After backing up and considering the entire field of wave science we slowly move forward into k space the home of quantum mechanics and solid state physics. Now we see the spatial field gradients used to encode spacial information in the frequency signal picked up. Almost as a by line we hear there is all important demodulation. It was timely to review the wave science here.
