Reveille 2 March 2019

I was surprised to learn the origin of the word Tattoo in the Military version, as meaning turn of the beer taps. Also the back story of Frankie who famously kicked a mine in Vietnam. Reading about RSL member support it is no surprise that Drone helping is not their thing.

An interesting look at many of Darwin's theories, free will and animal emotions. The Ses??? project is for me not hard science but it does bring in some interesting ideas about the roll of human sacrifice and Big Gods

Dettol Chemical Structure

I have to apologize for the quality in that I put the microphone in a poor place. None the less this is an atom by atom account of this safe and antiseptic molecule, and I also labour through the folk belief that this is a strong acid. Probably this podcast is only for chemists and scientists.

New Scientist 6 April_2

This one is made during a session on the exercise bike. There is a detailed break down of the US space program and the boys own heavy lifter rocket made by Boeing. I think also there was the main article about "all in the mind" psychosomatic illness. It is amazing the extra load on the memory is from exercise.

There are editorials on Mind induced illness and the failing get it into space model for NASA. Interesting articles on the Mars brine and surface water, a article on the Oceans on Venus which I am rather skeptical. There is an interesting article about the traveling micro cliffs on the 69P comet. The article about the second isolated interbreeding with the Denisovians in Papua New Guinea seems on one level water tight but on another I wonder why there is only DNA evidence in a Germ-line and no other physical evidence.

Parallel projects are Robust

For low budget conditions and a general strategic direction, many smaller redundant projects can ride delays as there is always some avenue to pursue.

Managers___ then there were Researchers

I argue here that the original solution to too little information was to create the illusion of certainty and analysis by handing social control to managers. Researchers are now getting further and further aided by mathematical models, artificial intelligence and a global information network. Blind acceptance, a key ingredient of the management solution does not come out as the winner in the race of solutions framed in the mind of researchers.

Three grades of Strategy

Reflecting on the ideas here the three grades of strategy, that looks at self only, self integration, and finally transcending self is really a reflection of personal growth. Any how I get side tracked parking at Sydney Airport. Perhaps it might be interesting to listen to,

Modern Slave Masters

An incisive model that explains workplace bullying as a throw back to ancient agrarian times when domesticate animals required domesticated human (slaves) and a social system that is at its heart cruel and inhuman. Armed with the knowledge how these people are in a zombie state there may be a way out of this apocalypse
