I felt the fact that Cloth merchants needed a mangifying device to count treads was a crucial ommision here, and lead to a lot of needless speculation. However I am touched by the role of the Shaggy Dog, Talkative Parrot and the Quiet Horse. Myself I don't think of horses as noisy, but if they lived in the house with you and played drums or the Piano it might be a different story.
