Well we find out about Mass which I am intensely interested in. It seems the idea he was dealing with transubstantiation ie the wine - blood thing is just folk word of mouth history. On reflection it would seem not such a hot issue to the deeply convoluted Medieval mind to change one thing into another with the invocation of a magical chant and magical actions. I just can't get my mind that St Thomas Aquinas should have laid down the law about celestial bodies when was so elegant about angles.
