Quantum Cafe

This is a Podcast while driving PWD as I trip to and fro to another medical appointment.

I was wanting to get into the Quantum mechanics of electrons in glass. As we are in a relaxed reflective mood, we feel the sense of Silicon crystals as an opera house concert hall where the waves reverberate between the walls, in contrast by putting an variable angle and length bridge between the silicon atoms we make SiO2 and change the atmosphere to a much more intimate setting. I can see this as I have watched how photons make glass glow and grow old.

I am also aware of how people draw a distinction between an actual object and a mathematical solution that describes that object. I can report that working in the field that rather than distinction there is profound unity of these manifestation of reality. I can see people seeing different things by working within the confines of particular solution set. I can offer the experience that as you can absorb different frame works of understanding, it is not that you can have access to different angles on the same topic. By combining and integrating and accommodating solutions you move to a stereoscopic view. That is combining and working through views you increase a sense of dimensionality. In a deep sense understanding 2D and 3D gives you an extra dimension, not 4D but the x of xD the higher order dimensionality of dimensions.

I remember seeing alternative traffic lights in a Melbourne museum. It is a clock timer, about 60 cm radius, it takes 60 secs for a revolution, sometimes 5 minutes. The time is not displayed but regions are Green, Amber and Red. It was a different solution in different space. It is an artifact that may appear as a passive relic, but it is also having an active role: It is signalling to the traffic of museum goers directing those who can integrate past solutions into the continuum of the present to further thought, and to those who are operating on the binary paradigm of 'buy that now' and 'give that a thumbs down' a message to turn back towards a more consistent existence.

In a sense electrons are solutions, and they illuminate our perceptions, our understanding of their environments. People are solutions, but there is a little more complexity at play here.
